Oh, tomayto, tomahto

Today I had a very interesting conversation where I was saying I had a WSS and the other person insisted that she had a BBS. So that got me thinking. Why are there some people who insist that there dog is a BBS and not a WSS? I think because they don't realize it's the same. Berger Blanc Suisse means literally Shepherd White Swiss. So why insisting? I think because people find the name BBS more exotic, more suitable for the breed. However, they obviously never had French at school or they would know that it's the same. As we say 'tomayto, tomahto'.
